The church museum of the Estonian Swedes

The church museum of the Estonian Swedes is located in the basement of the church, it was launched in April 2006.

The museum reveals both the ecclesiastical and everyday life of the Estonian Swedes. Initially the permanent exhibition has been made up of church property, once belonging to Swedish St Michael’s and Vormsi churches and kept safe in Sweden for years. These items can be seen now again after more than half a century in hiding.

The other, St Olaf’s hall of the museum is used for temporary exhibitions. This hall can also be used for concerts and receptions up to 100 people. The small conference room for 20 people will also be at your disposal.

The rooms of the museum were consecrated on 14 October 2006 (see: picture gallery)

The exhibition was opened on 23 July 2007.
